About Us – Meet The Empty Nesters

The Empty Nesters Travel | Rocky Mountain National Park

We are Sarah and Efrain; a couple in our forties who are truly enjoying the empty nesters’ travel lifestyle. In 2020 we became empty nesters when all four of our children went off to college.

Our boys graduated high school and went off to college in 2018 and then our girls graduated high school and went off to college in 2020, leaving us to travel more and enjoy our empty nest. We have been truly embracing the travel lifestyle and did not miss a beat during COVID. We were very fortunate to live in Georgia; there wasn’t much of a lock-down time, so we were able to continue enjoying life with all safety measures being observed. We have taken and continue to take advantage of every day of vacation and any other holidays to travel.

We love our children dearly, but when you travel with six people versus two, travel plans are very different. We are able to travel much more because for one it is much easier to fund a vacation when paying travel costs for two versus six. A second reason it is easier is because my husband and I agree and have similar tastes in travel style. Our kids all have different ideas of what constitutes a great vacation. My husband and I love to hike and explore the outdoors. We love the beach, the lake, and the river; you name it water wise and we are in. We love food and wine; we search out wineries and farm to table restaurants when we travel. Lastly, my husband and I are very efficient; it seems as though we have more than 24 hours in our day. We both can operate at a very fast pace if we need to; no wasting time for us; but we have no problem relaxing as well. Everything has its perfect time.

Land tours, cruises, road trips, or just local explorations are all on our list of things to do. We can be happy going to local eateries, breweries, or wineries when we are short on time, to a local hike if all we have free is one day. On weekends, we tend to do road trips or short flights. We typically get 5 weeks off a year, so we take advantage of each of those with longer trips; cruises, land tours, or longer road trips.

Come kick back, grab a glass of wine, while we share how to truly embrace the empty nester travel lifestyle. We want you to experience this EXCITING TIME!
