Copamarina Resort is a 20-acre, family-owned resort located in the charming town of Guanica, on the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico. The resort boasts 106 guest rooms, suites, and villas, each with its own private balcony or patio overlooking either the Caribbean Sea or the resort’s lush tropical gardens. The accommodations are spacious, elegantly decorated, and feature all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay.

We stayed in a traditional room and it was plenty for the two of us; we had a balcony that overlooked the resort and water view, refrigerator, coffee pot, desk and sitting area. The suites have a room similar to the standard room with an attached living, dining and kitchenette plus an extra bathroom. The villas are 3 bedrooms with full kitchens.

Activities and Amenities

Copamarina Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities to keep you entertained during your stay. The resort features a private beach, two swimming pools, a fitness center, tennis courts, and a full-service spa. You can also take advantage of the resort’s water sports equipment rentals, including kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling gear. Part of our group rented a Hobie Cat and sailed around. They had a great time on it! The rest of us enjoy lounging in the chairs and lounging beds with a canopy.

Our group took a private tour to Gilligan’s Island. We rented a paddleboard and a floating mat to relax on. It was very nice to paddleboard between the mangroves and relax and sun on the mat! The private tour also included a fruit tray and cold waters for everyone.

If you’re looking to stay active during your vacation, the resort’s fitness center is fully equipped with cardio and weight training equipment. The resort also has tennis and basketball courts for guests who want to get in a game.

For those who prefer to relax and unwind, the resort’s two outdoor pools and hot tub provide the perfect place to do so. The resort also offers a variety of spa services, including massages, facials, and body treatments.

If you’re traveling with children, Copamarina Resort has plenty of activities to keep them entertained as well. The resort’s game room features a variety of games and activities, including video games, board games, and ping pong. There is also volleyball net, outdoor checkers, badminton and other outdoor games.

Dining

The resort has several dining options, including two restaurants and bars.

Las Palmas Cafe offers casual dining with a Caribbean flair, while Alexandra’s serves up elegant cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood.

Las Palmas is the resort’s main restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had the breakfast buffet and lunch one day at Las Palmas. The menu features fresh seafood, grilled meats, and a variety of salads and sides. The restaurant also offers a daily breakfast buffet. It also features traditional Puerto Rican dishes like mofongo and tostones. The resort also catered the food for the cocktail hour and wedding reception.

Alexandra is the resort’s fine dining restaurant, offering a more upscale dining experience. The menu features a variety of gourmet dishes, including fresh seafood, steak, and pasta. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine list, with selections from around the world. .

The Bar is located next to the resort’s pool, and serves up refreshing cocktails and light bites. There is also a bar next to the restaurants. Be sure to try a tasty passion fruit mojito while watching the sun set!

We attended cocktail hour the night before, the wedding, another cocktail hour followed by reception at this resort and it was beautiful. The food and drinks were quite tasty and all the decor and planning was perfect.
